William B. Meyer, Inc. Expands to New Locations
In celebration of 90 years in the transportation industry, William B. Meyer, Inc., an agent for United Van Lines, has expanded regionally by acquiring assets from Bay State Moving Systems, another United Van Lines agent. William B. Meyer, Inc. will now operate from locations in Hartford, Conn., and in Springfield, Mass., in addition to its headquarters in Stratford, Conn., and its existing facility in Bedford Hills, N.Y.
This acquisition will immediately increase the company's hauling capacity for United Van Lines by fifty percent. All of the company's business lines, including corporate relocation and household and commercial moving services will be supported by sales, customer service and operations personnel in the new markets. The purchase supports the sales activities that had existed for the company in these areas. As a family-owned and operated company, William B. Meyer, Inc. is confident that this acquisition will continue to diversify its customer base, add new markets and provide growth opportunities for its staff.
Transportation services will range from northern New Jersey to southern Vermont and New Hampshire. Areas also covered include Massachusetts, Rhode Island, the metropolitan New York area and New York State as far west as Albany.
"We are very excited about this new acquisition and are confident in its success," said Tom Gillon, president of William B. Meyer, Inc. "As one of the largest transportation, logistics and storage providers in the Northeast, this will lead to additional ways for William B. Meyer, Inc. to expand our service offerings in more markets."
"As we celebrate our growth over the past 90 years, we are pleased that we can offer the convenience of our new Springfield and Hartford locations to our clients," said Chuck Mattes, executive vice president of the company.
With this new acquisition, William B. Meyer, Inc. has increased its warehouse capacity to more than 900,000 square feet. As a diverse transportation logistics provider, the company specializes in household goods storage and records management storage with off-site data protection services in addition to corporate, household and commercial relocation.
