Continuing the tradition of providing gifts to children in need during the holiday season, William B. Meyer, Inc. donated drawstring backpacks filled with toys to children at local hospitals and community centers. Each toy bag was personally assembled by a member of the William B. Meyer, Inc. team. All locations participated in putting together these bags with the children in mind. Over 1,000 total bags were put together and then distributed to the hospitals and centers.
The toy bags feature silly putty, coloring books, Crayola crayons, board games, playing cards, and stuffed animals, among other items. These items were selected to appeal to a range of ages and to keep kids entertained. Nadine Palmer, HR Coordinator at William B. Meyer, Inc., chose the items and organized the events as well as the distribution of the toy bags.
Toy bags were distributed to children in hospitals at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT, Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, and community centers like the Shehan Center in Bridgeport, CT. From there, the toy bags are distributed along to the medical center’s guidelines. At the Shehan Center members from our team have the rewarding opportunity to hand toy bags directly to groups of children. Each group was more excited than the last, comparing items and exclaiming over all the toys.
Every year the toy bags are something our team looks forward to assembling and the hospitals and centers look forward to distributing, and this year was no different. From the bag assembly to the distribution of gifts, holiday cheer was experienced by all.
